All Classes

All of my technology classes will focus on a variety of things. Listed below are a few topics that I expect all students to be familiar with by the end of my class.

  • Correct typing posture, fingering, and technique
  • General computer know-how and vocabulary
  • A basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Confidence to problem solve minor issues
  • Confidence to navigate and use new programs
  • Improved writing skills in relation to technology/business communication

8th Grade Specific

8th grade focuses on a wide variety of programs. Typing practice is offered, but typing is not the main focus of the class. Programs that will be covered include the Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, and Gimp (photo editing).

  • Improved typing speed and accuracy
  • Intermediate computer knowledge and vocabulary
  • Intermediate understanding and usage of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Intermediate understanding of computer ethics
  • Introductory Google Earth
  • Introductory photo editing

7th Grade Specific

7th grade focuses mainly on typing skills. Students will spend a majority of their time working on touch typing skills, speed, and accuracy. Students will be introduced to some programs including the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Basic touch typing skills, keyboard awareness
  • Introductory computer knowledge and vocabulary
  • Introductory understanding and usage of Microsoft Office programs
  • Introduction to computer ethics
