Objective (Goal):

The purpose of this project is for you to explore one of the Global Awareness Organizations in Google Earth. You will then be creating a video promoting a specific project for that organization.

Directions – Part 1:

1. Open Google Earth.
2. Turn on the “Global Awareness” layer.
3. Double click on a particular organization to zoom in on a focused section.
4. Click on the icon to learn more about what an organization is doing in that location.
5. Explore the different organizations until you find one that interests you.

Directions – Part 2:

**Please make sure that you answer the following questions in complete sentences!!

1. Open Microsoft Word.
2. Save your file as Last_First_Awareness.
3. List the name of the organization that you chose to work with.
4. Explain why this organization interests you.
5. List 2 specific things that this organization does.
   1. Include the location that this takes place.
6. Insert a hyperlink for this organization’s website.
7. List up to 2 other people that are interested in this project that you would like to work with.
8. Save, close, and submit your assignment.

Video Project – Part 3:

Objective: The purpose of your movie is to showcase your organization. You are trying to convince me to join, donate, or help out. Make sure your movie is persuasive!

Special Note: You may work in groups of 2 for this project. Not 3!! You need to have one outline per group.

1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Save the file as Last_First_Movie
3. Create a title for your movie
4. Describe the SPECIFIC purpose of your movie.
   1. What are you going to show me?
5. Describe the basic plot of your movie — write a detailed list of steps for your movie. You must include each of the following items!
   1. Each step should be in the specific order that your movie will go in
   2. You need to describe each step.
      1. What text are you going to write? Look up facts and information on the internet.
         1. I want specifics — exactly what story or fact from the organization are you going to use?
      2. What pictures are you going to use? Describe them, do NOT look them up.
   3. The goal is to try to convince me or anyone else to actually join or help your organization.
   4. You must include any contact information from the organization.
   5. You must include the website for the organization.
   6. You should have about 30 slides worth of information.
   7. I should be able to read this outline as your movie plays and the stories should line up.
6. Save, close, and submit your file
